Comment: Overall, I found the umbrella to be of acceptable quality for this price. The material is a bit thin and probably won't last long outdoors, but time will tell. I bought 3 and made a nice big shaded seating area for my patio. Considering most higher end umbrellas cost well over $100, this was a great way to cover a large area on a budget.
Note that the pole is larger than normal and won't fit in most umbrella stands. Here is my recipe for a very easy DIY stand:
Go to your local home depot/hardware store and buy:
1 9-10 gallon galvanized wash tub. ($12)
1 50lb bag of quick-crete cement. ($2)
1 18" length of 2" galvanized pipe. ($3)
1 roll of duct tape ($3)
Total cost: about $20
Cover one end of the pipe with duct tape to keep concrete/water mixture out and stand it up tape side down into the tub. Now run a piece of duct tape from one side of the tub up and over the pipe to the other side. Do this in an X pattern. This will hold the pipe upright and straight. Now, fill the bottom of the tub with about an inch of water and slowly dump your bag of cement in. Start mixing and add water as neccessary till nice and smooth. Make sure you mix well. Let stand overnight to harden. Remove duct tape supports and viola! a $20 umbrella stand.
Tip: The concrete will only come about halfway up the tub: you can fill the rest with planting soil and plant some flowers in it. Looks real nice. Drill some holes in the side for water drainage. You might also want to drill a hole in the bottom of the tub up into the middle of the pipe to allow water to drain out in case it gets down in there.
