Summary: Precisely what I was looking for. 2008-08-03
Comment: It's a hammock, plain and simple and a really good one at that. Very comfortable, sturdy and stable, and no waffle print on your face when you fall asleep in it!

Summary: Hammock Heaven for the porch 2008-07-19
Comment: On impulse I bought a hammock for $2 from a neighbor's garage sale which promptly tore up - but it got me on the trail of finding a good one. I went to the local REI sports store and nearly got a nylon camping/backpack hammock, but what I was really searching for was a full hammock to fit a spot on my porch. Well this is the one and its great fun, hung on hooks installed 11 feet apart and six feet up from the floor. The hammock hangs in a wide loop and to get into it you lower yourself grasping the outside edge which envelops securely. It's quite an experience, like being in a cocoon. The fabric is dense, and currently being in the heat of Atlanta's mid-summer it's best to enjoy the hammock in the coolness after dinner. And wow, it delivers great naps. My pal, a Bichon Frise, loves this and there's lots of room for both him and me. Amazon delivered this within 24 hours, unbeatable.
Note: you will need an S hook or something similar to join the hammock to the hooks on the wall to prevent chafing of the fibers. I look forward to it lasting for years on the porch... I hope.
