Product Description
The Chesapeake adjustable double lounger offers you the opportunity to relax with a friend in a fully reclined horizontal position or you can adjust each or both the back and leg rests to best fit your desired position. Also features the ingenious addition of a generously sized sliding drinks tray. This one piece tray slides out to either side, providing 7 1/2" x 13 1/2" of tray space. Each Lounge has 3 adjustments for the back and foot rests.
ABOUT BALAU WOOD: Balau is a resilient, enduring hardwood, which has been used in shipbuilding for centuries. This tightly grained and gold-colored wood is ideal for outdoor wood furniture. Naturally resistant to bug infestation, mildew, and pollutants. Untreated Balau will fade to a classic, soft gray.

Summary: Worst Online Purchase Ever!!! 2007-09-21
Comment: I'm an old hand at assembling furniture, but this lounger is the most difficult and frustrating item ever. Shipment was fast, but the box contained wrong parts, defective parts, and not enough bolts. It took days to figure out what was and wasn't right because no instructions are included, only three sketched diagrams. Customer service was not easy to reach. I had to try several different days. When I did reach them, they were nice on the phone. They requested digital pics of the various problems, which I promptly emailed. No response, so a week later, I called again. I wanted to send the lounger back for refund. They had received the emailed pics and were very apologetic. I was cheerfully instructed to throw away the parts, since the order was so messed up, and I was promised a prompt refund. Sounded too good to be true, so I held on to the parts, just in case. A week later, no refund, so I called again. I was told there was a delay in processing the refund, but no problems and I would have the refund within a few days. Week later, no refund, I called again. This time, I was told to return the lounger. By then, an unexpected rain had destroyed the original carton, so I spent half a day finding boxes and packing up the parts (this was no small job, some of the pieces are HEAVY) before I got a quote for shipping. Big mistake - I couldn't get a quote less than $200 to return the lounger. I assumed Ewins would refund return shipping since it was their mistake, but I called again to make sure. Nope. By this time, their 30 day window had passed and they refused to pay for return shipping. Long story short, I spent untold hours on the phone working my way up the chain of command. At every turn, I was told they would send replacement parts, but would not refund unless the lounger was returned at my expense. I finally negotiated a partial refund with replacement parts, which were sent promptly. The chair is a nightmare to assemble, takes two people and the diagrams are misleading. Also, one of the bolts had a sliver of steel that injured my hand when I picked it up. Overall, sturdy when assembled and looks as pictured until the first drop of water touches it. Then, the stain washes off and it looks neither weathered and aged, nor new and pretty. Overall, the product is inferior. Assembly is extremely difficult. Customer service is the worst. My advice - do NOT buy this product! I buy a lot of items online, but will never buy from Ewins again. If zero stars were allowed in rating an item, this one would definitely have gotten ZERO.

Summary: Nice product, hard to assembly, tough delivery 2007-08-13
Comment: The finished chaise is a nice solid product. It takes two people to assemble. It has lots of bolts in tight spots. Getting the item delivered was a challange. They choose a carrier I had to fight with to get to drop at my house when no one was home.
