Summary: Not what I was hoping for 2006-05-11
Comment: I just got this product this afternoon. It was much larger and heavier than I had expected, and would not fit in the place on my porch I had planned to put it. It seems to be about six feet across and is much too tall.
It is also poorly machined - some of the parts can't be put together all the way, and the holes that hold the upper section on are too small to fit the bolts through. Also, paint is knocked off in places, with rust showing underneath.

I paid for it with my Visa, and have yet to see the delivery.

Summary: Hammock chairs are fun in the living room! 2005-08-22
Comment: Who says outdoor furniture has to stay outdoors? I had always wanted a hammock swing since I was a kid.
We live in a highrise and putting a large tree in the living room was out of the question.
I went to Bizrate and typed in "Hammock chair stand" and it rated Amazon as the best, and cheapest online place to buy one.
The description sounded good, and it also sounded like a very heavy item (I believe it was something like 70 lbs.)
I shuddered to think how expensive postage and handling would be.
BUT there were no P & H!!! It was free!!!!
Since I had already had an Amazom account (GREAT place for books and music) ordering was quick, easy and the item showed up when they said it would.
Setting up the stand was a breeze BUT it is tall. and alittle popcorn ceiling stuff was rubbed off, but no problem, otherwise.
WHAT A FUN CHAIR!! I think all adults should get what they've always wanted , no matter what it is or how unusual it is...so I have something normally found on patios in the living room, but everyone likes to sit in the hammock chair!

Comment: The stand in and of itself is strong and works well, or so it seems. I have not been able to sit in it since it arrived. The shipping box arrived in pieces and 2 of the screws were nowhere to be found. Very disapointing to say the least.
