Amazon.com Review

Enjoy lazy summer days in ultimate comfort and swinging relaxation with this first-of-its-kind single-point hammock chair. Take a much-needed break from gardening, raking, or playing with the kids by treating yourself to a languid lounge session in the cool air of your own yard. The hunter green hammock will cradle you comfortably and the S-curve weave provides full back support. This hammock's cable-woven cotton cord is strong enough to resist weather and weight, while its triple-coated hardwood dowel resists the test of time. Its patented swivel design means it can fit on your porch or stretch out under the trees to a maximum length of 7 feet--long enough for even the tallest family members. --Eli Huntington

Summary: We own 5 and they last about 12-18 mos outdoors 2007-07-13
Comment: We've owned Swings n' Things hammock swings for the last 7-8 years and absolutely love them. They're comfortable, support heavy loads and take tons of abuse from our kids and the elements. That said, we leave ours hanging outdoors under our (exposed) deck's arbor 24x7x365. They're constantly being battered by sun, rain and chlorine/bromine from our swimsuits. The spreader bar is well sealed, but after a year or so will begin to show it's age and weathering. Paper wasps love to use them as sources for their nests as well. The swing itself is made of cotton and will also begin to weather and break down in the elements and environment I've described. As such, when a cord or two breaks (usually the first thing to go), we typically take it down and replace it. This usually occurs between 12-18 months. These swings take a huge beating, so I think 12-18 months is Awesome. If you use yours in a protected setting, or put it up/take it down regularly, I believe you'll get years of use out of them. I can't help but give these 5 stars. I think you will too.

Summary: Omni Rope Hammock damaged upon arrival 2007-01-29
Comment: I was dissappointed with this product. It had freyed and untied hammock strings when I got it out of the box. As pricey as it originally was I expected at least a swing that was manufactured well. But this is terrible. It looked like it wasn't even completely assembled!

Summary: not an all weather swing 2004-01-19
Comment: I purchased this swing, the first one that i received had a defective weaving, the cords came apart. I got a replacement, since then i have had the swing out and have barely used it, this summer when i tried to sit in it, the rope gave away and i fell down. Note that this swing was barely sat in.

Summary: My parents like it. 2003-05-20
Comment: I gave this as a gift to my Mom...she loves it and says she can lay back in it like a hammok. My Dad has also tried it. They had it put up on a tree in less than an hour after they recieved it from UPS. Mom says she can take it down and put it up easily without Dad's help. When a storm hits, this is a good idea. After visiting the folks, I find that it It fits me(at 6' 2" and 275 lbs) I can now rate it five stars. dispite the thin(looking) ropes, this thing could fit a circus elephant it's so strong(Hehe).

Summary: Got to love it 2002-06-11
Comment: This wonderful hammock continues to offer my family a much-needed break from gardening, raking, or playing with the kids. The kids love to pile in and spin until they are dizzy - while I enjoy a much needed break and read a favorite book.
