This attractive multi-color pattern beach umbrella with 8 foot canopy diameter overcomes several of the design weaknesses of traditional beach umbrellas. Its strategically designed wide vented canopy provides air passage to allow for more stability. The non-corroding heavy duty frame is constructed with fiberglass ribs and spreaders for more flexibility providing steady, reliable protection during windy conditions, unlike traditional beach umbrellas ribs go inside-out making it unusable.

Comment: We had the biggest and nicest and brightest umbrella on the beach. And, all 3 of us (adults) fit underneath with room to spare!! Really worth every dollar!

Comment: This umbrella worked great the only thing the plastic top part was lose and I had to glue it on. It could be a little bigger but the size works for 2 people. It was a breeze to screw into the sand. You do not need to buy a sand screw it has one attached and convenient T handle to help screw it in the sand. Make sure it is screwed deep in the sand because it is light weight. But I love the weight of it makes it very easy to carry to beach also bag had nice long strap to carry on your shoulder. Nice purchase no regrets.

Summary: Good Umbrella - Lousy Poles 2010-08-22
Comment: I'd like to give this product four stars, but I just can't. The problem here isn't the umbrella itself, but the sub-par poles that the umbrella is attached to. The lower pole is the big problem as it is made from somewhat thin aluminum; this lower pole is really not strong enough to support the 8 feet of umbrella above it. In a fairly modest breeze, this umbrella will quickly become top-heavy causing it to potentially topple over. When mine did exactly this, the lower pole, bent and actually broke. It's nice to have all the shade this umbrella can give, but I would caution against using this on breezy days. I worked around the bad pole by using a heavier gauge pole I had from another umbrella and using a Sand-Grabber that I had purchased many years ago (this umbrella actually has a built-in sand grabber, which I thought was a nice touch; too bad the pole wasn't stronger). Also, the coupling which holds the upper umbrella half to the bottom pole, does not make a tight enough fit to keep the wind from blowing the umbrella out of the lower pole. Big umbrella, nice idea, but it just doesn't work well given the materials that were used.

Seems to be excellent quality. I think it's worth the price. The cheaper stuff is,well, cheaper stuff.
Since this is not a heavily used product the test of value will be if it will last. Very pleased thus far
