Summary: very nice quality, terrific value 2007-10-23
Comment: When I purchased this item for $100 with free shipping it seemed a little too good to be true. It arrived promptly in perfect condition, and I am very pleased with the quality. The fact that it was fully assembled is also a huge plus.
By the way, my order arrived several days earlier than the expected date provided by Amazon.com, so take their estimated delivery date with a grain of salt.
As for how to waterproof this bench for outdoor use, here is a useful website I found:

Apparently there isn't really any specific oil in "teak oil"; it's kind of like saying "furniture oil" in that different manufacturers may sell you products with very different ingredients. Two common preservatives that are often used are linseed oil and tung oil. Linseed oil has the disadvantage that it darkens the wood, so I ended up buying some 100% tung oil to treat my bench. (Beware of "tung oil finishes", which are some blend of tung oil and varnish.) See also

Summary: Should've bought another! 2007-10-20
Comment: Like an earlier reviewer, I picked up the 2-seater and two of the Blake chairs, and all are top-quality items. Most pieces are doweled, not glued, and sanded very smooth and ready for some linseed oil (unless you're going for the patina-gray weathered look). I went back to get more immediately after delivery, and all were gone.
Items were packaged well, so not sure why someone would receive it in pieces. Maybe ask your "nice" delivery guy?
